BROTHERS OF ITALY

text, paraphrase and comment:

Brothers of Italy Italy has awoken, with Scipio, With

She has bound her head.
Where la Vittoria?
Le porga la chioma,
Ché schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò.
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò.

Noi fummo da secoli
Calpesti, derisi,
Perché non siam popolo,
Perché siam divisi.
Raccolgaci un'unica
Bandiera, una speme:
Di fonderci insieme
Già l'ora suonò.

Uniamoci, amiamoci,
l'Unione, e l'amore
Rivelano ai Popoli
Le vie del Signore;
Giuriamo far libero
Il suolo natìo:
Uniti per Dio
Chi vincer ci può?
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia he called. From the Alps to Sicily

Legnano is everywhere, Ferruccio

Every man has the heart, has a hand
The children of Italy Are all called
Balilla,
the sound of each ring
the Vespers.

Son that drunk
swords sold:
Even the eagle of Austria
Has lost his plumes.
The blood of Italy,
the Polish blood
drank, along with the Cossack,
But it burned her heart.
in cohort
Ready to die
called Italy.

Fratelli d'Italia, Italy has awakened. On his head was a helmet of Scipio Africanus, the conqueror of Carthage. Where's the victory? Italy seizes the crown. God has indeed conceived the victory as a slave of Rome (and its glories).
Schieriamoci in battle (the cohort was a unit of the Roman Legion).
We are ready to die. Italy has called us.

For centuries we are downtrodden and derided, not because we are a people, because we are divided.
We share a single flag. We attach a single hope. The time to join is already played. Let us unite and love each other

. The Union and show love to the peoples of the streets marked by the Lord.
swear to make our country free. If we are united under God, those who can defeat us?
Schieriamoci in battle. We are ready alla morte.

The swords of mercenaries in the pay of Austria, are weak as reeds that bend.
Austria, which currently dominates the power within our borders, has already lost by that eagle feathers adorning his arms. The Austro-Hungarian drank the blood of Italy. Ally of Russia, with the help of the Cossack troops, the Empire has also violently suppressed the freedom of Poland.
But all that blood he burned the heart.
Schieriamoci in battle. We are ready to die. Italy has called us.

Listen to the Gospel>
Today we see God's power in St. Paul, from persecutor to apostle who became the accepted faith in Christ and has spread with extraordinary apostolic fruitfulness, which is not yet ended.
But since we are still in the week of unity, we reflect on some aspects of Paul's conversion that can be put in relation with the drive.
St. Paul was concerned to the maximum unity of the people of God was this the reason that drove him to persecute Christians, he would not tolerate even the thought that men of his people to tear off the old tradition, he was educated, as he himself says, the exact observance of the Law of the Fathers, and was zealous for God to the Jews that listen to him after his arrest in fact he compares his zeal to them: "... full of zeal for God, as you all are today." So
can be filled with zeal for God, but in the wrong way. St. Paul himself says in Romans: "They have a lot of zeal, but zeal is not according to God," is a zeal for God, but designed according to men (cf. Rom 10:2).
Now, as Paul, filled with zeal for God, he used all means and in particular violence to keep the unity of the people of God, God has completely "converted", addresses these words to make it clear what the real unit . "Who are you, Lord?" I said, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.
"Che devo fare, Signore" chiede Paolo, e il Signore not answered directly: "Continue to Damascus, and there you will be informed of everything that has been established that you do." So he sends him to the Church, does not want a conversion to his Apostle individualistic, with no relation to the other disciples. He must join the Church, the Body of Christ, which must adhere to live in true faith.
After his conversion Paul was kept in heart the desire to be united with the people of Israel. Writes in Romans with words that can not be read without deep emotion: "I speak the truth in Christ, not lying, and my conscience bears witness in the Holy Spirit in my heart a great sorrow and suffering continues.

Arise, be baptized and purify your sins, calling on the name of Jesus

Da loro avevo anche ricevuto lettere per i fratelli e mi recai a Damasco per condurre prigionieri a Gerusalemme even those who are there because they were punished.
While I was traveling and I was approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven flashed around me, I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?". I said, "Who are you, Lord?". He said: "I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting." Those who were with me saw the light, but did not hear the voice of one speaking to me. I asked, "What shall I do, Lord?". And the Lord said to me: "Arise and go into Damascus, and there you'll be told all that is appointed for you face. And since I could not see, because of the brightness of that light, guided by the hand by my companions arrived in Damascus.
A certain Ananias, a devout observer of the law and respected by all the Jews living there, came to me, approached me and said, "Saul, brother, come back and see." And at that moment I saw him. He added: "The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth, because you will witness before all men of what you saw and heard. And now, why wait? Arise, be baptized and cleansed of your sins, calling on his name "."

Word of God

or:

(Acts 9.1-22 - You will be told what you do) The Acts of the Apostles

In those days, Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, in order to be allowed to bring them bound to Jerusalem that he had found all those men and women belonging to this path.
It happened, while he was traveling and was approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven, wrapped it, and fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him: "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?". Rispose: «Chi sei, o Signore?».
Rispose: «Eccomi, Signore!». E il Signore a lui: «Su, va’ nella strada chiamata Straight and look at the house of Judah a man who named Saul of Tarsus, and behold, he is praying, and saw in a vision a man named Ananias come and impose on their hands because they regain their sight. " Ananias answered, "Sir, about this man I have heard from many how bad he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. Also, here he has the permission of the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name. " But the Lord said, 'Go, for he is the instrument that I chose for me, that it may bear my name before the nations, and kings and the sons of Israel, and I will show him how much he must suffer for my name! " .

+ From the Gospel according to Mark

At that time, [Jesus appeared to the Eleven] and said to them
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons, speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents and if they drink any poison, they will go against them, lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. " Word of the Lord

Prayer of the Faithful
The Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul testifies to the wonders that God's grace can do. Today we will pray to God the Father, because the Church and the world may be increasingly open to the demands of the gospel. Let us say together:
Lord, reveal the face of your Son.

O Lord, your Church is scattered throughout the world as the grains of wheat in the field: it is the sole bread together in the love of Christ. Let us pray: O Lord
Also today, the world needs the gospel: the light of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit will inspire and grab new apostles of the Gentiles. Let us pray: O Lord
, many people who hunger and thirst for you: the poor of faith, hope and charity in our community are the spirit of acceptance and renewal. Let us pray: O Lord
, many of our neighbors did not know you and love you: give us new enthusiasm for combining them with simplicity and mercy. Let us pray:
O Lord, our hearts are restless until they rest in you: help us to live intensely the desire for conversion. Let us pray for the preachers of the gospel
discouraged by difficulties.
For the Church of silence.

Father, doing wonders, answers our prayers and grant us the grace of conversion, to participate fully in the mission of your Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer bids
Accept, O Lord, our sacrifice,
and makes' the Holy Spirit to enlighten your church
with the faith that inspired St. Paul
and he did missionary and apostle to the Gentiles.

Biography of Don Antoniu Petrescu

"Sento che qualcosa di good will happen to me sooner or later confided to friends ... The turning point came with the admission to the Minor Seminary in 1989 where, two years later, he took the diploma classic.
His path to the priesthood was slowed down during its ordinary course of various adventures and mishaps on the moment that brought him sorrow and bitterness, but with time, the plan of God for his life took substance and configuration. In fact, after the death of his father, after a period of spiritual darkness and after incomprenssioni related to his character considered "too bright" by some, for others "too rebellious, reluctantly leaves the workshop. He stands up, as usual, and after reflection mature "kisses and embraces" family members to surrender to the will of God who "sees and provides" experiencing what it means "God's ways are infinite "....
arrived in Italy early twenties, he began his university studies at the Pontifical College Lions of Anagni (Fr), Institute for aggregate Teresianum University of Rome in 1993, earning a licentiate in theology with a specialization in Ecclesiology in Pastoral 1999. Of all these years, great memories, just down the seminary with a beautiful relationship of respect and trust, which, in 1995, as president of the Missionary Circle "Gamis" of the seminar, send him to Mexico to share experience of mission.
He volunteered in Rome for the Jubilee of 2000 in collaboration with the CEI and the diocese of Ariano Irpino (Av) and the Eagle as a deacon in the diocese.
He was ordained priest on December 11, 2004 at the Cathedral of Avezzano by His Excellency Bishop Lucio Renna beginning so, his adventure is not only an artist but also as a priest in the service working in the parishes of the diocese's Cathedral, as assistant pastor at Villa San Sebastiano and Caruscino as a substitute priest and since 2008 in the parish of San Giovanni in Avezzano as assistant pastor in the Ministry where he full-time, with an emphasis on the sacrament of reconciliation, care for the sick and the Word. In addition, he was assistant parish's spiritual fraternity making themselves available for the celebrations outside the parish, such as: replacement of the priests, weddings and baptisms.
Beginning in 2006, works with the Ecclesiastical Court of Chieti as a translator after completing their study of British private school at the Institutes. Don Antoniu, in fact, is fluent in Romanian, Italian and English.

Homilies of Father Antoniu Petrescu

Il mondo che abbiamo oggi è il frutto di questi due gruppi di persone, or to be more accurate by the division that exists in every human heart between adhere to the good or evil, holiness or sin.
Even today, the Lord tells us: "Turn and believe the Gospel." Even today, invites us to follow him, to listen to him, to try to build and leave future generations a better world than we received. The future does not depend on the stock exchange, depends on us, and will be light today if we give importance to the light that comes from the Lord. fact, the kingdom of heaven is near there where there are people who listen to the Lord and follow him, putting into practice his teachings on charity. All of us, the Lord says: "Turn, turn to me, listen contemplami and with all the tools you have available.
Try to listen to me and you'll see that you'll find the experience of the kingdom of God, a different world and a different way of being in this world.
I will pray for you do not you ever get tired to contemplate and to follow me, and why you always have the strength to get up and start to follow me with hope in your heart. "
II Sunday in Ordinary Time kill without complaint. So Jesus is the gift sent by God to men willing to be sacrificed for them. To what end? To take away the sin of the world.
Now the question is unavoidable: "What is this sin of the world?"
We know that sin is all that separates us from communion with God and our brothers who gave us, but this is already a consequence of the sin of the world.
I think that this sin that Jesus wants to remove from the world, so as to be willing to be killed just to do that, the ignorance of the true face of God, is every bad idea that man has done his God, and that led him to move away from him
If you allow me to compare human is a bit like when we say: What a pity that did not know who was next, and so you got in trouble, or what a pity that did not trust the right person.
This sacrifice in serving? It was not enough to explain that Jesus who is his father?
No, because the man needs no proof, and since man has always been convinced that God knows what he wants and that is always ready to punish him by sending some punishment, I feel that many times defined as being the God's will, it was necessary to prove that God loves him as the man giving him even his son leaving him free to treat him as he wanted.
